About the Author
Karin Russell is a college English teacher whose experience in helping students achieve success has spanned more than twenty years. Russell earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at Stetson University and her master's degree in Reading and Language Arts Education at The Florida State University. She continued her education in the English field by earning thirty-six graduate credit hours beyond the master's degree. She has taught composition and literature courses for various Florida schools, including Brevard Community College, Nova Southeastern University, and several career colleges.

For more than fifteen years, Russell has been a full-time English instructor for Keiser University, where she is the University Department Chair for English, humanities, fine arts, and communications. She oversees curriculum development for a variety of writing, literature, and communication courses. She has been named an Instructor of Distinction four years in a row. She also serves as a member of the assessment committee and the Keiser Writes leadership team and as a faculty advisor to Phi Theta Kappa, a student leadership organization. Russell is especially interested in enabling students to develop their writing skills through a process-oriented approach and showing students how writing is applicable to their future careers. She passionately believes that nearly anyone can become a good writer with the right instruction and enough practice.

On a personal note, Karin Russell loves spending time with her loving husband, Todd, their amazing son, Cody, and their wonderful rescue dogs and cats. She also enjoys creating stained glass art pieces, riding her motorcycle and scooter, traveling about the U.S. in her family's RV, and reading multicultural novels.

About the Author
Vic Satzewich is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at McMaster University. His research areas include international migration, racism, aboriginal/non-aboriginal relations in Canada, and the Ukrainian diaspora. Nick Liodakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, Wilfrid Laurier University. Dr. Liodakis' research areas include quantitative analyses of class, gender and nativity earnings differentials within selected ethnic and "visible" groups in Canada. He is also interested in the educational attainment class and gender differentials within foreign-born and native-born members of ethnic groups.

They try to convince others of their skill, loyalty, and dedication, while others expect them to play the role of opponent, representative, and leader. Friedman shows that the front-stage drama fulfills these needs and expectations, while backstage contacts between lead bargainers allow the two sides to communicate in private. The traditional labor negotiation process, he reveals, is an integrated system that allows for both private understanding and public conflict. Current efforts to change how labor and management negotiate are limited by the persistence of these roles, and are bound to fail if they do not account for the benefits as well as the flaws of the traditional rituals of negotiation.

For negotiation scholars, Friedman's perspective provides an alternative to the rational-actor models that dominate the field; his dramaturgical theory is applicable to any negotiations done by groups, especially ones that face political pressures from constituents. For labor scholars, this is the first integrated theory of the negotiation process since Walton and McKersies's classic text, and one that helps unite the four elements of their model. For sociologists, the book provides an example of how a dramaturgical perspective can be used to explain the logic and persistence of a social institution. And practitioners will appreciate this explanation of why change is so difficult.

Excellent Learning Material

This is seriously the best book for studying Arabic. Whether you are in a course, or just trying to learn it by yourself, it covers the essential grammar in a clear and concise manner. Following that, it covers a large majority of the essential grammar that you will need to move from beginner-intermediate to competent. If you have worked through the book, you should be able to converse in fusha, read most texts in fusha and understand most short spoken pieces.

Excellent. Even though written in 1996, the book is full of good info that is applicable today as it was when written. I think an updated version with new resources would make it that much better.

Best Book on the Subject

This is the most complete book about manufactured home communities I have ever read. Many real estate investors, appraisers, lenders are familiar with the four major commercial property types: multi-family, retail, office, industrial, but are not knowledgeable about manufactured home communities.

Manufactured home communities are a niche discipline of investing. The author does a splendid job in walking the reader through all the detailed steps necessary in purchasing, managing, and selling a manufactured home community. The chapter on the due diligence is excellent.
